Get rid of Lice and Dandruff using Vasambu

Dandruff is a common scalp disorder and the shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. Lice can quickly become a severe issue when left unnoticed. With all the constant itching and irritation, you will have a tough time relaxing and doing daily activities at home or work in peace. Spending a lot of time outdoors and with others affected with head-lice can have this itchy problem. The seriousness of lice and dandruff may fluctuate with seasons as it often worsens in winter. Most of the adults and young ones are affected by this problem.

Sweet Flag for lice and dandruff problem is a natural remedy mentioned in the ancient methods, and traditional Ayurveda practitioners have long used it. Its practice has remained to this day, and it is available in the various forms. When you suffer from hair problems such as dandruff, hair loss, or more, you can use this remedy and benefit from it.

Things Required:

  • 3-4 pieces of Sweet Flag (In Tamil: Vasambu) 

How To:

  • Crush the pieces and grind it into a fine powder.
  • Rinse your hair with the water and apply the powder.
  • Massage your head for 10-15 minutes and ensure the paste covers from hair ends to the roots.

Leave the paste in your hair for half an hour and wash your hair thoroughly with the lukewarm water. Repeat the process every once a week to the best outcomes. You can also use Shikakai powder with it, which in turn increases your hair growth and prevent hair lice.

Why it Works:

Vasambu works as excellent anti-lice remedy. It is a natural insecticide, and this property makes it efficient in killing lice.

It is harmless for external application and gentle on the skin, hence applying it on the scalp does not cause any harm.

Its regular usage helps in get rid of dandruff from the scalp and promotes hair growth.

Sweet Flag Powder is known to calm nerves and helps improve a person’s memory. It helps in calming the mind and cure headaches when inhaled.
