Do your lips feel dry, cracked and painful?. Chapped can be a problem at any time of the year whether cold winter or hot summer. It is not only caused due to harsh weather but also the environmental factors such as pollution, UV rays or cosmetic products. If you’ve always wondered why this happens, here’s your answer the skin of the lips is the thinnest and the most sensitive. Yes, you read it right. That part of your face that we forget about, requires attention and care. You have to make taking care of your lips a part of your daily skincare regimen.

While lip balms can certainly be relief there are other natural home remedies for this problem. One of the easiest ways to get rid of chapped lips is to stick to natural home remedies as they are safe and reliable.

Things Required:

  • Glycerin – two tablespoons
  • Rosewater – two tablespoons

How To:

  • Take two tablespoons or equal amounts of both glycerine and rose water in a bowl.
  • Apply this on your lips and leave it for about 10 minutes.
  • Take a clean cotton pad soaked in lukewarm water and wipe it off.

For better results, follow this method once every day. Regular application makes the lips soft and hydrated and helps eliminate dead skin cells.

Why it Works:

Glycerin is well known for its hydrating property due to which it is used in many products such as body wash, face cleanser, face masks and moisturiser.

Glycerin is  a humectant, a type of moisturizing agent that pulls water into the outer layer of your skin from deeper levels of your skin and lips.

Rosewater helps maintain the pH balance, and also controls excess oil and leaves with soft supple and pink lips.

These ingredients work well together because glycerin provides hydration and moisture, while rose water acts as an astringent which results in hydrated and rosy lips.
