Things Required:

  • Ponnanganni leaves- a handful
  • Thoor dhal – one cup
  • Salt – as required

How To:

  • Take a handful of ponnanganni leaves and pressure cook it for about 2 whistles with one cup of thoor dual and salt to taste.

Adding ponnanganni leaves to your deit regularly helps in weight loss. Be sure to take ponnanganni leave at least twice a week for effective results.

Orange peel powder to whiten teeth

Teeth whitening is safe and effective under a dentist’s supervision, however, several natural remedies can be done at home and get that radiant smile yet again. One such well-known natural remedy being the orange peel, which has been extensively used for teeth whitening.

Things Required:

  • Orange peel powder – two tablespoon

How To:

  • Take two tablespoons of orange peel powder and gradually add water to it until it forms a paste-like consistency.
  • Rub this paste on your teeth by dipping a clean toothbrush in the paste then continue brushing your teeth for about 3 minutes.

For better results, follow this method once every day for two weeks. You will see whiter and brighter teeth.

Why it Works:

Oranges are very citrusy, so this healthy fruit may come as a surprise for teeth whitening.

The vitamin C in oranges strengthens the blood vessels and connective tissues in your gums, reducing inflammation and slowing down the progression of gum disease.

The albedo or white part of the orange peel contains vitamin C, pectin, limousine, glycerine and soluble fibre. Many of these compounds act as natural teeth whiteners.

Remedy for bleeding gums by massaging

How To:

  • To perform gum massage with your fingers, take your index finger and hold it firmly against your gum tissue. Then, move the tip of your finger in a circular motion while sliding it along your gum line for about ten minutes.

Why it Works:

Gum massage increases blood flow to your gum tissue. This increase in blood flow leads to the circulation of even more nutrient-rich blood to gum tissue to help fight gum disease and improve overall gum health.

Blood is filled with oxygen. Many of the bacteria that contribute to gum disease are anaerobic bacteria that thrive in an environment with little to no oxygen.

The additional oxygen supplied to gum tissue during a gingival massage can help kill many of these bacteria. When performed regularly, gum massage can thicken the gum epithelium.

The gum epithelium is the outer layer of gum tissue that helps protect the gums from bacteria that can cause infections.
